Paleo Diet Recipe: Easy Tomato Soup

Tomato soup is a brilliantly simple meal and snack, but you have to be careful with the shop-bought varieties. Manufacturers sneak all sorts of non-paleo ingredients into those cans that we don’t want in our bodies. And anyway, homemade is always best. Use our recipe to fill yourself up with some delicious healthy goodness.



Serves 6

  1. 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  2. 1 can diced tomatoes
  3. 1 can coconut milk
  4. 2 c bone broth*
  5. 1 tbsp onion powder
  6. 1 tbsp minced garlic
  7. 1 tsp cracked pepper
  8. 1 bay leaf
  9. 1/4 tsp salt
  10. 2 tbsp butter

  1. Melt butter in the bottom of a large soup pot, and lightly sauté minced garlic.
  2. Add in the rest of the ingredients, stir to combine, and heat on medium high until it comes to a light boil.
  3. Simmer for 20 minutes or until the bay leaf becomes fragrant.
  4. Garnish with fresh or dried herbs to taste.
