MEXICAN FOOD FESTIVAL “A TASTE OF MEXICO”
TO TAKE PLACE FROM 11th to 17th of SEPTEMBER
The Embassy of Mexico is pleased to inform the new dates for the Mexican Food Festival featuring renowned Mexican chef Margarita Carrillo. This magnificent event – that was rescheduled from last May- will now take place between the 11th and the 17th September 2009 at the restaurant Uisce of the Hilton Dublin at Charlemont.
As you are probably aware, last April Mexico experienced an unpredictable health emergency due to the influenza AH1N1 outbreak. After an opportune response of the Government of Mexico and its population, the situation is now under control and Mexico is moving forward. For that reason, the Embassy of Mexico is hosting several events to offer the Irish people the opportunity to rediscover the strengths and extraordinary features that make Mexico a magic place.
In this regard, “A Taste of Mexico” will be a truly unique occasion in Ireland to enjoy the variety of Mexican food and the wealth of indigenous ingredients that have resulted in one of the most exciting and well-established culinary traditions in the world. The festival will present a Chef that has been recognised as one of the leaders in the new trends of Mexican cuisine: Chef Margarita Carrillo, who has travelled the world as Executive Chef of Mexico’s Ministry of Agriculture and has also been the Mexican representative of the International Association of Culinary Professionals (IACP). She is currently the owner of the prestigious restaurant Don Emiliano’s in Los Cabos, voted the best restaurant in Baja California and a member of the “Slow Food” movement.
During the Festival, Chef Carrillo will present exquisite dishes that will give a taste of the new trends in authentic, quality Mexican haute cuisine, well matched with Mexican wines, beer and tequila. In addition to the menus prepared together with Chad Byrne - Executive Chef at Hilton Dublin and the Hilton Dublin Kitchen brigade, Chef Carrillo will conduct Mexican Haute Cuisine cookery lessons. Chef Carrillo would gladly be available for interviews upon request or other media appearances.
The Embassy enthusiastically invites the Dublin public to come and enjoy a taste of Mexican haute cuisine prepared by one of our country’s most renowned chef. This festival is only the tip of the iceberg of all great things Mexico has to offer to the world. For more information on this Festival and the cookery lessons, please contact The Embassy of Mexico, 01.667.3105.
