Cheesy Potato Pie

Okay, stop what you are doing right now and go to the grocery store to make, by far and away, the best potato pie I have ever eaten. This even beats the other Potato Pie recipe I have in my recipe section. I think the apple gives it just the right amount of flavor. OOh OOh all the flavors together….I take a bite, close my eyes and go to a place that is taste heaven. Even if you chose to buy your pastry crust, I think you will still… Continue

Trouble Brews for Wine; Cheese Chooses Beer

After wrestling for a spot on the gourmet drink list, beer is trying to push deeper into wine territory: right by the cheese platter.

"Some cheeses are considered to be jewels. And for now wine is a more prestigious partner," says Leonardo Di Vincenzo, owner of Birra del Borgo, a young Italian artisanal brewery that has recently begun exporting to the U.S. But once they try beer with cheese, he says, "People are struck by how easily the two go together."

The… Continue

Spice up your day with Red Hot and Roka Blue Chicken Salad

Please visit Red Hot Roka Blue Chicken Salad for the complete article and recipe.

One of my favorite “extras” to add to salads is green onions. Green onions are also known as spring onions, or scallions, and have a mild onion flavor that is ideal to toss into salads, omelets, tacos, and stir-frys. To prepare green onions, trim off the roots, remove any… Continue

lactagen to my lactose intolerance rescue?

So i've been reading up on some stuff regarding medication and treatments for my lactose intolerance but i haven't found anything. I mean, i already spend too much time and money on lactaid, dairy ease and etc. i'm just looking for something that's more affordable and hopefully something that has permanent effects, rather than the short, immediate relief stuff. The closest thing i've come across that i'm remotely interested in at all is this product called Lactagen. Lactagen looks like it could… Continue

Can I have Cheese With That?

That is a question that I would have never imagined asking. "Just wine, no cheese, thank you" was what I'd reply every time I went out to grab a glass of wine with some friends. Why? Well I was lactose intolerant, that's why. The same feeling of frustration and embarassment would emerge every time I was left simply drinking a glass of wine while my friends dined on some cheese along with wine. This was a feeling that was all too familiar with me growing up, seeing my sisters and friends eating… Continue

Seafood Pizza?

I went to a cutting edge restaurant yesterday, it's in the harbor, and it's called "Le-Chuffesusu".

By cutting edge I mean really really cutting edge.

How is that you say?

They make sushi, that comes as pizza topping!!!

You get all the pizza types available, Chicago deep dish, NY thin crust, whatever there's in between, and you get an assortment of sushi dishes on… Continue
